Unit Manager for Planning and Analysis

The Unit for Planning and Analysis
The Department for Management Support and Finance consists of three units: the Unit for Information Management and Procurement, the Unit for Finance and Accounting, and the Unit for Planning and Analysis. The Unit for Planning and Analysis is responsible for planning, analysis, and follow-up of the university's operations at a strategic level. The unit works, among other things, to develop and support the university's management system, quality assurance system for education and research, and coordination of the university's sustainability efforts. The unit assists management and operations with analysis and investigation, provides support to committees and councils, and serves as a process support for commissioned activities, innovation, and collaboration.
Your Workday as Unit Manager
In this role, you are responsible for developing a robust and operationally close support that creates value throughout the organization. You lead the work to develop working methods and processes within your unit and ensure that they are effective and sustainable. The tasks are varied, from supporting and leading employees towards common goals to operationally handling limited issues within the unit's area of responsibility. You have workplace environment responsibility for the unit and work to create a safe and inclusive workplace where everyone contributes to achieving set goals. The role also involves close collaboration with the university's institutions, other departments within the shared operational support, and external stakeholders, where you become an important part of building a culture of collaboration and development.
The unit currently consists of 11 employees. You report to the Head of the Department for Management Support and Finance and are part of the department's management team. As a manager at Dalarna University, you will have opportunities for development through our management development program.
Are You the Person We Are Looking For?
Requirements:

You have the ability to think strategically and are proactive, driving initiatives from a holistic perspective, making things happen, and having the ability to make necessary decisions within your area of responsibility. You identify, manage, and independently carry out your work while collaborating with, leading, and motivating the employees in the unit towards the goals.
You also need to have:
- a master's degree in a field deemed relevant by the employer
- at least one year of experience as a manager, with the managerial responsibility having occurred within the last three years
- experience in leading development work of processes and/or working methods
- experience working within one of the unit's areas of responsibility
- very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
- good proficiency in English, both spoken and written
Meritorious for the Position:
- having a doctorate in a field deemed relevant by the employer
- experience working within one of the unit's areas of responsibility at a higher education institution
Employment
The position is a permanent employment, with a start date according to agreement. The working percentage is 100%. A probationary period may be applied. Dalarna University operates at two locations. The placement for this position is Falun, and some work may also occur in Borlänge. There is an option to establish a remote work agreement.
